You Clicked, We Donated: Land O’Lakes Gives $100,000 to Hunger Relief Programs

As a part of its Feeding Our Communities initiative, the Land O’Lakes Foundation is pleased to announce that it has reached its goal of donating $100,000 to local hunger relief programs through its “Operation Co-Operation” campaign.

“Our goal was to generate new funding for local hunger relief efforts,” Land O’Lakes Foundation Executive Director Lydia Botham said. “By enhancing our traditional support of community hunger initiatives through Operation Co-operation, we were able to generate additional funding and bring increased visibility and community recognition to the issue of hunger.”

Feeding our Communities “local” hunger relief efforts included partnering with Minneapolis-based KARE 11 television station and the United Way. Through KARE 11’s “Take KARE of Your Community” program and Web site, individuals were able to participate in the Land O’Lakes Foundation “Operation Co-Operation” campaign. With every click, one dollar, up to $100,000, was donated by the Foundation to fight hunger.

“Land O’Lakes and the Land O’Lakes Foundation have always been dedicated to being good neighbors in the many communities where we have members, employees, plants and facilities,” said Botham. “Thank you to all community members who ‘clicked’ for this important initiative.”

All proceeds from the Operation Co-Operation campaign will go to Minnesota-based hunger relief organizations, including Emergency Food Shelf Network, Minnesota Food Share, Second Harvest Heartland and United Way.
